New Sickle Action & Prison Break!

I've been super busy with work so I haven't had time to play lately. But, I logged on today and got a new Dual Blades weapon. It's a couple of sickles with toxic damage. I love the look of them.

Also, a while back I jailed my Nemesis but he broke out today! There was a pretty cool mission to stop all the bad guys from breaking out of prison.

At one point, a whole gang of prisoners rushed me. Thankfully, my Dual Blades character can easily take care of crowds of enemies.

In this mission there are two major bad guys. Green Dragon is a Master Villain and uses the Martial Arts - Unarmed set. For Technoblade, he was easy to dispose.

The second boss is Vengeance and she is a Super Villain. I died once fighting her, mainly because I was also fighting a Nemesis Minion at the same time. Once I killed the Nemesis Minion, I could kill Vegeance pretty easily. Vengeance uses the Telekenesis Power Set and has dual Ego Blades.

Nemesis + More Weapons

On Sunday, I reached level 25 for the first time with Technoblade! And I created my first nemesis. His name is Technophobia and he and his minions have super strength. I was so enthralled about my first nemesis mission I forgot to take pictures! Oh well, next time... My nemesis basically looks like a cowboy.

Anyway, I did take pictures of some new weapons:

I used these toxic blades for quite some time. I love the look of them and the toxic damage is very good.

I was able to make this pair of level 26 frost blades. Same blades as the toxic blades, but does frost damage instead.

This is my current favorite: electrified pick axes. They look like they hurt! Has an interesting sound to them too.

Crafting Fun: Dual Blades

One of the things I have learned recently to do is in-game crafting. Now, certain power sets lend themselves to more crafting than others.

Luckily, my main character has mostly powers from Dual Blades. I now have about 7-8 weapons that I either created myself or got through a mission and/or drop.
The first Dual Blades weapon is made was this frost blade. I looks cool because of its frostiness and looks even cooler when I'm twirling the swords around. From what I remember, though, it's not that powerful.
Then I got these vibro blades. They look as if the blades are electrified. Cool, but in a different way. From what I remember, this did decent damage.
Now we're talking. These flaming maces could do some really awesome damage at the level my character was at the time. It was also a totally different look. Everything up until now had a long, slender blade. I like the look of the mace. Very end heavy.

Then, it got even better. For a very long time, these electro axes were the bomb. I liked the blue sparking effect and once in a while, these Chinese characters would pop up while fighting. Pretty neat.
At level 22, I'm using these electro scythes. Kind of looks like that giant sword used in "Raiders Of The Lost Ark." Except that I'm using TWO of them that are sparking with electricity. With high amounts of dexterity and ego, I'm loving my weapon.

Arming Your Champion

Only recently have I felt that I have a good handle on the game. My highest level character in open beta was a hero with mostly electricity powers. Because of that, I missed out on a lot of weapon upgrades.

So, I went back and made my main character from closed beta:

Technoblade

Technoblade uses powers generally from the Dual Blades power set. Eventually, he'll have some of the higher powers from Power Armor and Gadgeteering.

He will be my main character initially. I want to level him to 40 before I make another character.
I love that I can change the weapons that I use. I start out with normal samurai-style swords. Then, I got these cool flaming short swords.

Later, I got these interesting Vibro-clubs. The Dual Blades power set can be tricky. It feels underpowered between levels 1-10. By 11, you really start seeing good results. However, because I gave Technoblade mostly Dexterity and Ego to get those great critical hits, his defense is not so good. Regeneration definitely helps but he doesn't feel as invincible as some of my other characters. I'll definitely have to get Medical Drones.

Finally, the actual game gets underway tomorrow with the Head Start weekend for those who preordered with Best Buy and Gamestop. Everyone else will start next Tuesday when Champions Online appears in stores.
