Busy 2010

Holy Schnikes!  It's been since JANUARY since I last posted here?!  I have to say 2010 has been such a busy year at work that I have not really made the time to get ahead in this game.  But, I have been playing off and on in recent months although I missed the summer update and the anniversary event.  Oh well.

I've been getting a little bored with my level 30+ characters.  So, I'm going back down to my 20+ characters.  Specifically, Island Warrior (pictured, above).  I bought the new Millennium Costume Set and applied them to several characters including Island Warrior.  I also gave him a couple of large blades for his shoulders, a couple of hammers on his hands and sandal-like shoes.  What do you think of his new look?

The hammer bracers really add to his character especially when using Shockwave.  I've been doing some Serpent Lantern missions.  I used my 30+ Munitions character to figure out how to pass them and it's pretty easy using my 20+ Might character.  I wonder if Invulnerability got boosted?  Oh well. Why ask why?

Best Buy Fail

Normally, I'm a fan of Best Buy but today the store let me down.

I preordered Champions Online with Best Buy and I chose the in-store pickup since the nearest store is about five minutes away.

They sent me an e-mail Sunday saying that they couldn't confirm that my preordered product was in-house since the store was closed. Very odd. That e-mail was sent to me at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Yesterday, I got an e-mail saying that the game will be ready for pickup today. So far, so good.

I went there today, and guess what?... Best Buy did NOT have the game in stock yet.

I'm not really mad that it wasn't in stock. Games don't always make their Tuesday release, especially in Hawaii. My beef is that Best Buy went through the trouble to send me an e-mail "checking" if it was in stock on Sunday and then "confirming" that it would be available for pickup today.

For my trouble, I got a $25 gift card. Nice. The cost of the game just got cut in half.

I CAN still play the game and I think I have a grace period until Sept. 6 to enter the retail code.

Anyway...

I think I have a serious case of alt-itis: the sudden urge to create multiple characters in an MMO aside from your main character.

Here's another two I have made:

Point Blank

I made Point Blank because I was very interested in the amount of Munitions weapons there are that can be created. In fact, the guns you see her holding were self-crafted. Pretty nifty, eh? Munitions is a FUN ranged power set and I hope to eventually max level her.

Island Warrior

I made Island Warrior as a testament to my devotion to the University of Hawaii football team. I've also been interested in the Might power set since many have said it's not very good. Sure, I want to prove them wrong.
